Exhibitions / Watchers

2009

An exhibition of small paintings and sculptures that collectively profiled the seductive power of the screen. Watchers used the immersive escapist worlds of the screen, gaming and mobile technologies for aesthetic fodder. The bland world of the television remote control was carved into jaggy, painted miniature sculptures, while the absorbed expressions of TV-watching children was captured in a series of high saturation/low video quality paintings.
