Call
2017
Art Basel Hong Kong 2017Presented by THIS IS NO FANTASY
Part monochrome paintings, part trompe l’oeil sculptures, the paintings in Call were deceptively realistic facsimiles of tattered hard-back library books made uncannily large, too big for the shelves of any library and impossible to hold or read.
Each of the works began in automatic writing sessions where the energy of the fictional entity Tor Rasmussen (also known as Kraken) was channelled, with uttered phrases forming the titles of each of the books.
