A sequence of six oil on linen paintings exhibited at THIS IS NO FANTASY Melbourne in 2021.
Imagery was sourced from cropped sections of photographs of protest movements in the two years prior. People within the crowds were selected for poster-sized paintings based on a perceived capacity to carry a new narrative far from their original setting. Names and short stories were developed alongside the painted imagery to facilitate this new narrative- one that asserted the neccessity for individual agency to be placed before the collective good.
